Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying an armed robber who held up a Metro PCS store in Lehigh Acres two weeks ago.
According to detectives and witnesses, a black male walked into the Metro PCS store, located at 4316 Lee Boulevard, just before 6 p.m. on Thursday, January 29th. He immediately walked up to the registers, where several employees were standing, and pulled out a silver hand gun, demanding the cash from all the registers. The employees complied, and the man quickly left the store on foot, headed towards the right side of the parking lot. A witness, who was standing outside the store at the time of the robbery, saw the suspect approach the store prior to the crime happening. The witness said that in the seconds before the robber walked into the Metro PCS, he lowered his hat in order to cover his face, and placed both hands inside his camouflage jacket. He then saw the same man leave the store less than a minute later, running towards Gunnery Road with a black bag in hand.
Surveillance cameras captured images of the man, and now Crime Stoppers is hoping someone may be able to identify him. Although the only thing known about the suspect at this time is that he is a black male, detectives are hoping that someone may have either heard something about the crime, or may notice something familiar about the man’s mannerisms or how he carries himself.
Anyone with information on the identity and whereabouts of the Metro PCS robber is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
