Dubbing it the “Sunshine Protection Act,” a Democratic senator Thursday filed a bill that would lead to daylight-saving time throughout the year in Florida.
“Floridians’ quality-of-life and, potentially, economics would be improved by having an hour more of sunshine in the afternoon,” stated by Sen. Darren Soto, D-Orlando
It could boost recreation and tourism. Before the time change, golf courses were empty. But not anymore.
The proposal, by Soto, would help keep the sun shining in the early evening for more of the year but lead to less daylight in the morning.
Daylight saving time starts March 8 this year and ends Nov. 1.
The bill will be considered during these year’s legislative session that starts in March.
I am for leaving daylight saving alone, forward or back, either way it don’t matter to me, just stop having to set your clocks. No only that it throws my body’s internal clock off so such so it actually makes me ill.
It mess with the physical and mental functions of the body.
Yes, please, most Floridians, if not all, would love that 1 hour of daylight back. We hate it getting dark so early in the evening.
