At least one person is reported dead in a crash involving three vehicles, including a tractor-trailer and a forklift, on Palm Beach Boulevard (State Road 80) Saturday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, a forklift was traveling east on SR-80 at a slow speed. At the same time, a black SUV was following the forklift — also going at a slow rate of speed.
Another vehicle traveling east swerved out of the SUV’s way. But the semi behind that vehicle crashed into the SUV.
FHP trooper s told us the driver of the black SUV was pronounced dead. The person driving the forklift was taken to Lehigh Regional Hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of a black car was following the forklift, said Sammi Colley who witnessed the crash. “He had his caution lights on but they were so dim,” Sammi Colley said. “The Eggland’s Best truck attempted to swerve but didn’t have enough time”. She added, the person driving the forklift was transported to the hospital.
The Medical Examiner’s Office arrived on scene at 4:45 p.m.
