The driver was injured after his car that was equipped with a special hydraulic lift system, lost control at an intersection Friday morning.

According to Lee County Sherriff’s a eyewitness stated, the car was attempting to make a right turn off onto North Avenue from Leeland Heights Blvd approximately 11 a.m. when the vehicle began actively bouncing up and down aggressively, causing the driver to lose control and hit a tree head-on.

According to LCSO, the driver was able to get out of the vehicle and was found lying in a drainage ditch when Lehigh Acres Fire department arrived.

The driver was transported to Lehigh Regional Medical Center with injuries.

LCSO is investigating the possibility the hydraulic system either malfunctioned or the driver activated it by accident.
