Recently John and Barbara Kintzer’s son bought them a home here in Lehigh Acres, as a way for them all to live closer to each other. But this was not to be, on May 2, 2014 John and Barbara were driving down from Delaware to their new home in Lehigh Acres, when they stopped in South Carolina for the night. John having medical issues sadly passed away, that night.  On June 1, 2014, Barbara with the love and emotional support of family and friends moved into her new home in Lehigh Acres.

Recently one of Barbara neighbors notice that the wood near her home had over grown her property and had started to rub against her home. Taking it as a mandate of this neighbor’s faith to help all in need, he organized a cleanup to help. Asking nothing in return 20 members of the Lehigh Acres Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints & 3 members of the First Community Congregational, joined forces this morning Saturday November 8, 2014 to cut, bundle and remove all the trees and bushes that had grown so close to Barbara home.

“I cannot believe so many people would come to help me with this.” said Barbara Kintzer

As the work progressed we had a chance to speak with the neighbor, and asked why he would do such a kind thing? “As an Elder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I have been called upon by Heavenly Father to help anyone in need. It is a way to give a blessing to others, and in return the giver is blessed by knowing we have done the Lord works. ” He continued by saying “A small act of kindness goes a long way to help bring hope to someone.”

With so much work to do, they opted to split the work over two day and will return on November 15, 2014 to complete the task.
