Paul Howard Griffith, Jr., 89, of Lehigh Acres, FL passed away of natural causes on June 21, 2014. Born in Uniontown, PA on August 24, 1924 to General Paul and Pearl Griffith, he served in the South Pacific during WW II in the Army Air Corp. After the war, he returned to the US, attended Gettysburg College and settled with his family in Potomac, MD. Bethesda became his home when he married and raised his four children June Bourdat, Paul Griffith III, Tod Griffith, and Holly Griffith. Paul worked as a home builder and construction contractor. He also worked with Comsat negotiating the construction of communication satellites, and for the Uniformed Services School of Medicine. He was an active member of Columbia Country Club for over 30 years. He retired to Lehigh Acres, FL to pursue his love of golf, with his partner of 18 years, Dolly Bolton. He will return home where he will be put to rest at Arlington Cemetery with his fellow airmen and his wife of over 20 years, Mary W. Griffith. He was a loving father and will be missed by all who knew him. Services at Arlington Cemetery will be announced later when final arrangements have been made.
