Lehigh Acres Girl Scout Troop 746 presented The Octagon Animal Sanctuary in Punta Gorda with a donation check of $300 earned with their cookies sells this year; along with blankets, sheets, pillows and baby toys. All of which are used to help with the care of all the animals. During their trip the girls also adopted/sponsored an animal Baboon named Congo.
At the Octagon Animal Sanctuary their mission is to provide a healthy recovery and living environment for abandoned and abused exotic wildlife. Since the mid 1970’s, Octagon has been rescuing and rehabilitating exotic wildlife. The Octagon is located on Horseshoe Road in Punta Gorda just west of State Road 31. The Octagon is not affiliated with any other organization in the state of Florida or otherwise.
