A victim of the most recent robbery said the two men charged Monday in a separate incident with aggravated battery and shooting into an occupied dwelling are the same pair who broke into her house 10 days ago.
Donna Casey-Nix of Lehigh Acres, said Lee County Sheriff’s detectives told her of a possible connection Monday. LSCO Detectives told her items had been recovered from several other home invasions.
The suspects, Thayer Van Evans Jr., 24, of Lehigh Acres, and Lonnie Charles Young Jr., 21, of Fort Myers, remained in custody.
“All information would be appreciated,” said Trish Routte, Crime Stoppers coordinator. “Sometimes people would assume we know certain things so they don’t call. We would rather they call and tell us something we already know than not call us. To have this many acts of violence in this short amount of time is disturbing.”
