Violates Local Food Bank

Lee County Code Enforcement investigated the Food Bank at 1418 Homestead Rd N Lehigh Acres 33936. In which building belongs to Christ United Methodist Church. According to Code Enforcement the Food Bank has no business license and the zoning does not allow a food bank or pantry to be run out of a residential home. The Gazette tried to reach the Church leadership for comment but has had no answer to requests. According the code enforcements website case was re-inspected on July 8, 2014 by Code Officer Michael Ostrowski and could heading for fines or Lee County hearing examiner for disposition.

According documents from the State of Florida, Oasis Community Food Pantry, Inc. runs the food bank but no business license is listed for this company either.
