Lee County Deputies confirm as they tried to make a traffic stop at Tice and Ortiz Tuesday afternoon, the driver complied and stopped the vehicle but then hit the deputy’s cruiser with the vehicle and drove off.
Deputies pursued until it ended with a crash at Haviland Avenue South and SR 82.
Two inside the vehicle abandoned the car described as a silver Malibu and ran into the woods. Deputies tracked one suspect while the other was located with the aid of a K-9 unit.
The two suspects are in custody however details of the traffic stop and charges have not been released.
