John V. “Jack” Meehan, 90, a resident of Lehigh Acres, FL for the past 25 years, passed away at Hope Hospice on Sunday, July 6, 2014. He was born in Bronx, New York on March 29, 1924 and formerly lived in Clinton Corners, New York. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, enjoyed doing woodworking as his hobby and was and engineer at IBM for over 29 years.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Shirley; 7 children: Pat (Steve) Makula of North Carolina; Gina Meehan of Clermont, FL; Mary Angela (Jim) Molloy of Athens Catskills, NY, Val (Dave) Schaff of Rhinebeck, NY; Dottie (Jim) Lampi of Fishkill, NY; Patrick (Jeanne) Maresca of Clinton Corners, NY; Michael (Fran) Maresca of Poughkeepsie, NY; and 18 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Vera Meehan.
Visitation for family & friends was held from 6-8pm on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at the Anderson-Patterson Cremation & Funeral Services chapel, 2701 Lee Blvd., Lehigh Acres, FL. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11am on Friday, July 11, 2014 at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church. Services will be held again in Clinton Corners, NY on Sat., July 26, 2014 with burial following at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Bangall, NY.
