Reach & Rise
Mentoring Program YMCA

The YMCA is the recipient of a National Grant from the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) to receive funding for the YUSA mentoring program that has been proven to positively impact youth.  We are targeting youth in LEHIGH ACRES to receive this free mentoring!

The Program Director, Donna San Salvador has a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling, an important aspect of the Reach & Rise™ mentoring program.  This program is a therapeutic program that seeks to intentionally match at-risk youth with mentors who possess knowledge and passion in the areas the youth is interested in.  The program also provides training and ongoing support to mentors so they may assist youth experiencing difficulties in the best way possible.

There is no lack of youth being identified for the program, but Reach & Rise™ needs support from our community to provide mentors for the program.  Mentor’s should be 23+ years old, desire to work with at risk youth ages 6-17, meet for mentoring 1-3 hrs per week for one full year.  Mentors will complete a 15 hour training and pass YMCA screening.  Reach & Rise™ is looking for adults in the Lehigh area commit to spending an hour or so each week with a child who will benefit from this commitment for a lifetime!
