Goodwill Cuts Ribbon
on Lehigh Acres Job-Link

Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida, Inc. cut the ribbon on the new Goodwill Job-Link Center in Lehigh on April 15. The new Job-Link location provides employment services, skills training, and family strengthening resources and is located within the recently opened Lehigh Goodwill Retail & Donation Center (2825 Lee Blvd.).

The Lehigh Job-Link center is one of 15 Job-Link Centers operated by the organization. The center is open Monday-Friday 9:00a.m.-5:30p.m., but will be closed each day 12:30p.m.-1:00p.m.

“Our presence in Lehigh has really grown with the new Goodwill store,” says Goodwill spokesperson Madison Mitchell. “We are excited to expand further by offering more opportunities for employment services through this new Job-Link location.”

In addition to Goodwill’s employment-related guidance, the nonprofit also partners with other agencies to provide family strengthening services, such as money management, foreclosure assistance, income tax preparation, and English as a second language courses.

“Goodwill is here to provide opportunities to people,” says Mitchell. “That doesn’t just mean in the realm of employment. We want to make sure our clients are given the tools they need to be as independent as possible.”

Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida, Inc. is committed to assisting people with disabilities and disadvantages by providing life-changing opportunities to achieve independence.  In 2013, more than 37,000 Southwest Floridians received assistance from Goodwill, ranging from Job-Link services to disability-accessible housing, career guidance and mentoring programs for teens, and the SWFL MicroEnterprise project, a small business education program.
