The Power of Determination

Perhaps you can identify with the following questions.  Do you feel like you are hanging on by a financial thread?  Ever been disappointed by someone close to you? Are you aggravated by the ridiculous actions of others? Have you ever considered throwing in the towel and walking away? Have you ever felt like no one understands and no one cares?

Everyone feels this way from time to time.  This is called discouragement.  Discouragement is the lack of courage.  It is that moment when we are overwhelmed by the challenges we face and the inadequacy we feel while facing it.  Joshua, the great leader in the Bible battled these thoughts and emotions.  God stepped in to encouraged the unsure leader. This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 (NLT)

Here’s some good news; God understands you and He cares about you! He is for you and not against you. These are the times we need to infuse ourselves with a good dose of faith in God.  Faith is what fuels determination.  You know, the willpower and resolve that faces the challenge and says, “I’m not going under, I’m going through.”  You don’t have to face it alone.  He is more than ready to involve Himself at your invitation.

Life is now and you are living in it this very moment. Everything you’ve ever achieved or worked for, and everything you’ve experienced has brought you to this moment. This is the best time ever because this is the time you have to work with! This is when you can make things happen. This is when your most magnificent dreams and goals have the opportunity to become reality.  Remember, life is a process, not an event.  Faith in God and determination will serve you well!
