Lee County Domestic Animal Services removed 13 dogs from a home in Lehigh Acres.
Animal Services officers found the dogs, which were mostly pit bulls, in the garage of a home located at 1205 Harold Avenue S. They had no food or water and were living in their own filth.
Investigators say they saw urine seeping from under the garage door. Two of the dogs were found dead. They were dumped in a vacant lot next to the home.
Animal services say they have responded to the home before, but they never removed any animals. No arrests have been made in this case. An investigation is underway.
