Report an Inoperative or Malfunctioning Streetlight

Lighting is a critical part of our infrastructure. Streetlights and area lighting provide peace of mind and increase safety. Customers can help utilities maintain the benefits that lighting provides by reporting inoperable lights. Keep in mind that utilities do not own or maintain all lighting and some lights in beachfront communities are turned off during sea turtle nesting and hatching season.

Utilities have developed a simple procedure to report a streetlight or area light that is out or malfunctioning. Simply fill out and submit a secure online form at www.lcec.net or www.fpl.com. However, if reporting a hazardous condition, please call your utility’s emergency line.

When reporting an inoperable light, please provide the following information to ensure a speedy repair:

  1. A description of the problem.
  2. Description of the location or the number located on the pole.
  3. Your contact information including phone number, address or phone number.

This message brought to you to ensure speedy service and in compliance with Florida statute 768.1382
