A Lehigh Acres woman was struck by a car Monday night while walking south on Gunnery Road in Lehigh Acres.
The Florida Highway Patrol says that Madelin Nazario is in serious condition. Witnesses tell the FHP that Nazario tried to cross Gunnery and failed to see a car approaching.
The driver of the car could not see Nazario because there were no street lights in the area and the victim was wearing dark clothing.
Nazario was hit by the car’s right front side and then landed on the front windshield before falling to the ground.
Nazario was cited for failing to yield the right of way.
