Mary Herbert, 85, of Lehigh Acres, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 14, 2014.
She was born to the late Victor and Masina Toussaint on January 27, 1929, in Rio Claro, Trinidad. She was married to Horace Herbert for 34 years and they lived together in New York before relocating to Lehigh Acres in the mid 1980’s.
Mary was a nursing assistant until she retired. She was always passionate about helping others and was loved by all who knew her. She loved to travel and took many trips with her husband and family in her lifetime.
Mary is predeceased by one child, Dennis Johnson and survived by her husband, Horace; three children: Jacqueline Greta Meggett of Lehigh Acres, Lester Winston Moore of New York City, and Ave Maria (Ava) Williams of Trinidad. She also is survived by thirteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, four siblings: Cristopher, Edmond, Glenda and Angela and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park from 11 a.m to 12 p.m. The funeral service will be held at12 p.m. with burial to follow. Info 334-4880
