A of Lehigh Acres many neighborhoods is on high alert after someone spotted a black bear south of SR-82 near Columbus Boulevard.
Ashley Cortez was driving down Bermar Street when she saw the black bear walking down the road before it darted into a nearby wooded area.
FWC say it’s normal for bears to roam in the area. They say bears only become a problem when they get used to humans.
The best way to avoid bear encounters is to tuck away your trash and pet food, which can attract bears.
