Rolling Stone Magazine General Counsel Dana Rosen has sent a letter to the Bruce Keisling the owner of The Rolling Stone Libation Company, Lehigh Acres newest restaurant. The letter states that Keisling is “infringing name” and must stop using “Rolling Stone” name immediately.
The Rolling Stone Libation Company has been open for 8 weeks. Keisling said he first found about this matter by email. And he thought it was a hoax. Then his staff signed for a letter a week later.
Keisling said “Why, are they arbitrary, maliciously, vindictively, and inconsistent signaling us out while other uses the same words.”
Old proverb, credited to Publilius Syrus, “A rolling stone gathers no moss”. People, who are always moving, with no roots in one place, avoid responsibilities and cares. As such, the proverb is often interpreted as referring to figurative nomads who avoid taking on responsibilities or cultivating or advancing their own knowledge, experience, or culture. Another interpretation equates “moss” to “stagnation”; as such the proverb can also refer to those who keep moving as never lacking for fresh ideas or creativity. And according to Keisling, The Rolling Stone Libation Company is a rolling stone that gathers no moss.
We are trying to provide a restaurant that has both art and music venue in Lehigh Acres, said Keisling. We even have a scholarship program to help young artists.
