Fun things are planned for Lehigh Acres, Saturday, Oct. 26 at Veterans Park the Second Annual Make A Difference Day is held.
“Come out and discover why Lehigh Acres is a great place to live, raise your family, and open up your business,” Andrea Adams, community coordinator with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said. On Saturday, Oct. 26 from 3 to 8 p.m., The Lehigh Acres Community Initiative will celebrate its second annual event at the park on Homestead Road.
There will be food, music and other festivities for the whole family including over 40 different organizations showcasing their efforts to give back to the community, Adams said. “We also have partners helping us. They are the Lee County Dept. of Parks and Recreation and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.”

“We’re having several bands, including Live and Learn, a classical rock band, Michael King, which is a country music band. We are also having Christaholic, a Christian rap artist who will perform for us on the stage at the park. And we want to call attention to Brooke Huffmaster, who is with the Moccasin River Band. All of these people are from the Lehigh Area except for the Christian rap artist,” Adams said.
Adams said the Kiwanis Club of Lehigh Acres will have free hayrides along with pumpkin decorating and face painting.
One Blood will be on hand along with the American Red Cross teaching the public about topics pertaining to health and safety.
Adams also said Social Service providers will be distributing educational materials while educating the resident’s on a variety of topics and services that they provide such as food distribution, job readiness and medical treatment.
She said the whole purpose is to get people to care about Lehigh and to see what is happing to improve people’s lives in Lehigh and to get to know one another and realize Lehigh is a great place to live.
