Westbound lanes are now open and the eastbound lanes remain closed at SR-82.
Florida Highway patrol is responding to a vehicle crash with serious injuries in Hendry County.
The crash happened around 11:49 a.m. Monday at Calument and State Road 82.
Wet roads might have caused the northbound vehicle to lose control and hit the other car head on.
There were a total of 8 patients. Five children and three adults. Three reported trauma alerts. Both lanes were closed for about an hour. Currently one lane is open and traffic is alternating in each direction.
