“Save our children from lightning storms. Sign the petition for Lee County to build lock rooms for shelter!” the sign says. According to one parent Lee County is refusing to build a shelter even if the parents pay or donate the money or needed equipment to do so. So far the petition has over 100 signatures.
County staff was not available for comment for this story due to it was the weekend.
