FGCU Invites Public to Veterans Pavilion Dedication

Florida Gulf Coast University President Wilson G. Bradshaw invites the public and media to a dedication ceremony for the Veterans Pavilion, a memorial designed and constructed on campus by Student Government to honor all military veterans, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6 on the Library Lawn at FGCU.

“The veterans who are students at FGCU are an important part of our university community,” said President Bradshaw. “We dedicate the Veterans Pavilion to show our gratitude to these brave FGCU men and women and to all veterans who made sacrifices most of us cannot imagine as they defended our nation and our freedoms.”

This dedication marks the culmination of the work of three student government administrations to create a fitting testament to fellow students and other veterans who served in the military.

“The hope is that veterans who enroll at FGCU will know they are appreciated, and that the Pavilion will be something memorable for all veterans,” said Student Government President Juan Cubillo.

Media and the public should stop at the Parking Information Booth to obtain a parking pass.

Parking is available in Garage 1. From Ben Hill Griffin Parkway, take FGCU Boulevard, which is the main entrance to the campus. Turn left at the stop sign. For further directions, a campus map is available for viewing at http://www.fgcu.edu/Admissions/images/PictorialCampusMap2012.jpg.
