A sting operation in Ft Myers resulted in the arrest of nine men by undercover detectives with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Vice, Narcotics and Intelligent Units. One of these men is from Lehigh Acres.
Investigators set up an undercover sting operation on Thursday using the website backpage.com and other social media sites that solicit for prostitution.
LCSO says the reason for the operation was that more and more “johns” have been robbed by the women they chose to procure for sex.
Married men that solicit prostitutes are perfect candidates to rob because they don’t want their wives to find out. These men end up not wanting to tell law enforcement they were robbed and the crime goes unnoticed.
Six out of the nine men arrested are married and two men have wives that are pregnant.
