Dear Lee County Commissioners:
We must find a way to approve the vacated property ordinance, especially in Lehigh Acres. Huge support for this in Lehigh Acres where 90,000 people call it home.
Please vote to institute this ordinance. Otherwise, the county will be helping to turn Lehigh Acres into the blighted neighborhood area of the county and we don’t deserve that. Homestead road needs mowing. Sunrise Boulevard needs better drainage. Lots of houses on main boulevards and beautiful neighborhoods sit with boarded windows, grass up to the window sills and code enforcement cannot keep up with it or afford it. The banks and owners must become responsible for cleaning up our community. They are the cause. They are the cure.
