According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, 37-year old-Robert Thomas Bridwell was travelling east in the west bound lane and struck Naples Fire Lieutenant Corey Adamski’s vehicle head on.
Adamski, his pregnant wife and two daughters were seriously injured in the crash.
Adamski suffered a broken pelvis and broken legs and is currently in critical condition.
His wife underwent an emergency C-section; both the baby and mother are in critical condition.
The two girls were also seriously injured but their condition is unknown at this time.

On Thursday, July 4, 2013, at 10:13 pm, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a two-vehicle crash. The incident occurred at SR 82 and Rod & Gun Club Road, Lehigh Acres. Deputies responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, a 2006 Chevrolet Trail Blazer and a 2010 Nissan Sedan were involved in a head on collision. The driver of the Nissan was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced deceased as a result of the crash. Due to the nature of the incident, deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit were assigned to continue the investigation.
Preliminary information reveals, 37-year old-Robert Thomas Bridwell of 215 Blackstone Drive, Fort Myers, was travelling east bound in the west bound lane on SR 82 and struck the Chevrolet driven by Corey James Adamski of 350 Hunting Drive, Naples.
The other occupants of the Chevrolet, to include two small children, were transported to Lee Memorial Hospital for various injuries.
It is unknown if alcohol was a factor in this crash. The investigation is on-going.
