Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying a man who was looking at computers at Capital Pawn, 1300 Homestead Road, Lehigh Acres, on the afternoon of July 8th. The man asked the store’s employee to look at a few different computers, and while the clerk was busy with other customers, the male slyly switched the $1,000 price tag from a newer Dell computer with the $100 price tag of an older, much less valuable laptop. When the clerk returned to the man, he purchased the more expensive computer, which now donned the cheaper tag, and walked out the door. Since the man paid in cash, there was no identification left to track him down.
The male is believed to be in his 40s, and is roughly 240 lbs. He currently faces felony charges of larceny grand theft. Anyone with information on the identity and whereabouts of this suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).
