Lehigh Acres Toddler
Dies After Being Left In Car

The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office reports a child was found dead Saturday after being left inside a car for three hours. A 3-year-old child was pronounced dead after Manatee County Sheriff Deputies said the child was left inside a car for about three hours while the family was attending an out-of-town funeral.

Around 4:20 Saturday afternoon, deputies and EMS responded to a report of an unresponsive child at a home in the 2700 block of 5th Ave. E., Palmetto.

EMS pronounced 3-year-old Kyrese Dwayne Anderson, deceased.

Manatee County Sheriff Detectives said the child was left in a vehicle for about three hours while family members attended a funeral.

The mother and father of the child drove separate cars to the babysitter’s house to drop off their children before they went to the funeral.

Detectives said it appears the victim was accidently left in the car while the other children went inside the babysitter’s house.

They said the parents left for the funeral thinking all the children were in the residence.

The family is from Lehigh Acres and is in town for the funeral.

When they returned from the funeral hours later, they discovered Kyrese in the vehicle and called 911.

The investigation continues and, at this time, no one has been charged.
