HealthPark Medical Center and Cape Coral Hospital Recognized as Healthgrades 2013 Women’s Health Excellence Award™ Recipients

HealthPark Medical Center and Cape Coral Hospital announced today that they have achieved the Healthgrades 2013 Women’s Health Excellence Award™ according to Healthgrades, the leading online resource that helps consumers search, evaluate, compare and connect with physician and hospitals. This recognition distinguishes HealthPark Medical Center and Cape Coral Hospital as top performing hospitals in women’s health by comparing performance, not only for maternity care and gynecological services, but also how women fared when treated for cardiology, orthopedic, stroke and other conditions.

Healthgrades 2013 Women’s Health Excellence Award recipient hospitals have the potential to save women’s lives.  Compared to hospitals that performed in the bottom 10% from 2009 through 2011, Healthgrades Women’s Health Excellence Award recipients as a group had a 55% lower mortality rate across eight conditions and procedures and a 21% lower complication rate across seven conditions and procedures.
