Lee County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating an early morning armed robbery of a convenience store that resulted in a chase ending in a crash.
3 male suspects are in custody and a female suspect who was pinned in the driver’s seat of the getaway car is in the hospital.
Deputies got the call just after 3 a.m. about a robbery at a convenience store located at 1490 Lee Boulevard.
The suspects were armed and wearing masks; they fled with an undisclosed amount of cash without injuring anyone.
Deputies chased the suspects before they crashed into the woods at East 5th Street and Gordon Avenue.
The suspects made off in a silver Toyota Prius, the chase ended in a crash at E 5th St. & Glenn Ave.
Deputies are interviewing the suspects as their investigation continues.
