‘Inspirations’ art show seeking submissions
Visual artists are invited to submit up to two framed or gallery-wrapped pieces of art for the first annual “Inspirations” art show to be held April 14 from 3-6 p.m. at the Majestic Golf Course, at 350 Homestead Road S.
Hosted by the Arts of the Inland, this is a judged show. Art mediums that will be accepted are: watercolor, mixed media, pen and ink, oil, acrylic, pastels and charcoals. The work must be original and completed within the last two years.
The fee is $10 per art work for Arts of the Inland members and Art Council of Southwest Florida members; the non-member’s fee is $20 per art work.

Fashion show set
The General Women’s Club of Lehigh Acres will host its annual fashion show April 6 from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Colonial Country Club, at 9175 Independence Way, Fort Myers.
This year’s theme is “Fashion in Paradise.” Fashions will be provided by Anthony’s of Fort Myers.
The cost is $25, which includes lunch, the show and an auction. For tickets and information, contact Mary Beck at (239) 368-6076.
Proceeds from the event will go to the General Women’s Club Scholarship fund, which helps young women in Lehigh Acres fund their education.
Lehigh Concert Band to host season finale
The Lehigh Concert Band will perform April 7 at 3 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, at 705 Leeland Heights Blvd.
The event is free of charge, though donations are accepted.
Enjoy the sound of music with a traveling theme for all the snowbirds, including marches and selections to remind attendees of other places they call home.
The band members are retired teachers and military, as well as part-time musicians from all walks of life, who get together to have a good time and bring Lehigh its own town band experience.
The band is welcoming new members. Rehearsals are Tuesdays at 7 p.m. in the annex of Faith Lutheran Church or contact Lynne Criss at (239) 949-1834.
The Garden Club of Lehigh Acres will meet at 7 p.m. April 9 at the Fountain Crest, at 1230 Taylor Lane Ext.
Al Noblett, a volunteer horticulturist at Lakes Park in Fort Myers, is the featured speaker. He will share his expertise on “Backyard Water Gardens for Southwest Florida” and answer questions.
The regular business meeting and plant auction will follow.
New members and guests are welcome. Annual dues are $10.

Community Plan Workshop planned
A Lehigh Acres Community Plan Workshop is scheduled from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. May 4 at the East County Regional Library, at 881 Gunnery Road N. The topic is “Kickoff of the Lehigh Acres Planning and Design Study.”
