One of the Nations Most
Wanted Is In Custody

Felipe Torreabla

Sources tell Lehigh Acres Gazette that a murder suspect, who eluded Federal Marshals for months in Southwest Florida, including Lehigh Acres on August 16 is now in custody.

Felipe Torreabla was one of the nation’s most wanted fugitives, and had been spotted a number of times in Lee County, in Lehigh and in Cape Coral.

Detectives with the Broward County Sheriff’s Office say Torrealba is the prime suspect in the March 2012 murder of a Weston man who was found dead in his SUV.

Federal Marshals say Torrealba has been on the run ever since, using a network of people to help him avoid capture.

He has an extensive criminal record, which they say involves guns, drugs and assault.

There’s also a warrant out for him for shooting at Miami Dade police officers.
