A Lee County School District bus driver was cited after backing into a vehicle at a Lehigh Acres intersection.
The Florida Highway Patrol says Fransara Jackson of Lehigh Acres was driving a school bus carrying 27 children from River Hall Elementary School this morning when the accident happened.
Jackson was stopped at 59th Street west at Joan Avenue North when she backed up into a vehicle driven by Samuel Grippo, of Lehigh Acres.
The school bus backed up over the bumper, striking the grill and hood of Grippo’s Toyota Yaris.
None of the students on board the bus were injured. They were transferred to another bus and taken to school.
Grippo was treated and released from Gulf Coast Hospital for minor injuries.
Jackson was cited for improper backing.
