School Board candidate Les Cochran was all smiles at his fundraiser last week in downtown Fort Myers. Dr. Cochran, who announced his candidacy for the District 3 seat 15 months ago, has had over 300 on-on-one meetings with individuals throughout the county. None of the previous get togethers packed a bigger surprise for the life-long educator.
Fifteen minutes into the event, “Sonny” Haas, candidate for the County Commissioner, District 2 seat, appeared and announced his support for Cochran. Minutes later, incumbent Frank Mann, County Commissioner in District 2, arrived and gave Les his full endorsement. The crowd enjoyed seeing the two competitors agree on their support for Les.
Cochran grabbed their hands, saying, “I can’t think of anything better for the two of them to agree upon! With the support of leaders like this the entire community can come together to improve the quality of our schools.”
