This Father’s Day, have you stopped to think of what impact you really have? Do you know what you’re leaving behind? Are you aware of whose life you’re touching? It could be your wife, your children, your grandchildren, your workplace, or your neighbor. Each and every day, someone is watching your example, every day you are leaving a legacy. No matter what stage of fatherhood you are in, every choice you make will make a dramatic and lifelong impact on your children and grandchildren. Some of you may be thinking, “But, what difference do I really make?” Well according to statistics you make a huge difference!
Children from fatherless homes are:
(Most statistics from a 1999 report of the Department of Health and Human Services. See book Father and Child Reunion for more scientific studies and proof.) Does this mean that Moms are not important? Of course not! They have a vital role to play as well. But, rather, these statistics drastically reflect the story of a wayward world, when men decide to reject their God given roles as leaders in the home. Can we change this? Is there hope for men to gain back their honor and place in society as noble and courageous leaders? The answer is YES! But it can only happen in two ways: First men must decide to stand up and say “No More!” and second: Fully commit to follow The One who created and called them into existence, the One who calls them for a greater purpose. This Father’s Day I encourage you to be the man that God has made you to be. And as you seek your Heavenly Father, He will in turn empower you to be all you desire to be. You do have what it takes. Happy Father’s Day!
