It’s The Big 100th

Violete O’Donell was 100 years old on April 25 and loves to remind people that she “was born 10 days after the Titanic sank in 1912.”

Instead of even trying to put 100 candles on a big surprise cake, her daughter said they put three big candles a one and two zeros.

“I was born in Michigan. My parents came from Sweden and they couldn’t speak any English when I was a child,” O’Donell said. “So I didn’t get to learn English until I went into the first grade.”

And while she takes care of herself in all ways, she doesn’t drive a car, but she says she still can and had taken a test and passed it.

“But the insurance company hiked up my cost and I wasn’t going to pay that much money for insurance since I had never been stopped or given any tickets,” she said.

O’Donell said she began driving in 1927 and that her first car was a “Star.” And her last car was a 2004 Chevy, she said.
