Leads To Arrest

Cristobal Martinez

Cristobal Martinez of Fort Myers is facing burglary and theft charges after deputies say he was involved in stealing more than $30,000 in jewelry from a Lehigh Acres residence.

Martinez was charged with burglary of an unoccupied dwelling and larceny more than $20,000. He was taken into custody Wednesday and remains in custody at the Lee County Jail.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office has been investigating the March 29 theft from a residence on Mirror Lakes Court when deputies found jewelry matching the description of one of the stolen items that had been pawned at a shop on Palm Beach Boulevard.

LCSO Detectives were able to trace the transaction back to Martinez through a pawn ticket.
