President Obama must be voted out

It’s time for America to wake up to the cold, hard facts of what we will become if the president is re-elected.

Forget the rhetoric.

Forget the biased, self-serving “what’s best for America” speeches that only confuse us because they are so craftily wordsmithed.

President Barack Obama appeals to our short-term needs for all things comforting, while constantly blaming others for his administration’s lack of success in righting and saving our ship.

The president has become so enamored with his newfound power and popularity that he has brazenly implemented anti-growth and pro-populist programs without so much as a “wink and a nod” to those who are entitled to legislate and help govern.

He knows that once these executive orders or rule changes go into effect, it is almost impossible to reverse them by tying up a Congress that is unable to build a consensus to deny him his moves to the left.

One needs only to read non-mainstream media to understand just how far left this president is taking our country.

Lest all the blame be placed on this president, it is fair to say that others, in both parties, have been complicit. However, their wayward direction has only fueled Obama’s penchant for “progressive” fixes to our governing system.

He has increased the size of government’s role in the marketplace exponentially, while increasing our debt to almost third-world country status.

For the record, I was born into a staunchly Democrat family who believed FDR was a saint. But the Democratic Party has become the party of big government, a party of limousine liberals who never met a human rights cause they couldn’t embrace out of guilt for being successful. It became and continues to be the party of entitlements, handouts and bailouts, trampling on the personal liberties of all, for the sake of a few, who are now close to being the majority in our country.

For the last 20 years I have seen a further weakening of the liberties and freedom of our rights as citizens, a tilt toward complete government control on all levels. All governmental entities appear poised to grow their own powers without the constitutional right to do so.

But who can afford the legal costs to stop them?

These same politicians keep getting re-elected because no one will stand up to the crony system that has pervaded politics.

We need civic-minded non-career politicians to step up and be courageous enough to get in, fix the problems and get out!

On a federal level we must repeal intrusive legislation such as Gramm/Leach, McCain/Feingold, Dodd/Frank and Sarbanes/Oxley, while preventing Obamacare.

At the same time we must hold regulators accountable for keeping corporations, especially financial institutions, honest.

It was their failure to properly regulate financial institutions as well as corporate greed that caused the most recent financial meltdown.

I know because I worked a third of my 45-year career in banking.

America: It is time to wake up and see where we are heading if we have another four years of this misguided and divisive leadership.
