Lee County Sheriff’s Office Gives Back

Sheriff Mike Scott

In a continuing effort to give back to the community and help supplement a variety of great causes during these challenging economic times, Lee County Sheriff Mike Scott recently allocated forfeiture funds totaling nearly $150,000.

Over the last eight years, Sheriff Scott and his team have donated approximately $750,000 in cash and assets to numerous charitable, not-for-profit organizations. These monies represent property seized through aggressive law enforcement and employ the sheriff’s philosophy that criminals should pay the price for their crimes.

“I am proud of the great work our brave deputies do and will continue to support our community both personally and professionally,” says Sheriff Scott.

Forfeiture funds are used for training, equipment and charitable donation.  Non-profit organizations benefitting from forfeiture funds include the Rape Trauma Center, NAMI Lee County and Quality Life Center of SWFL.
