To enter the contest, participants must be 18 years or older at the date of entry. For submissions by individuals under 18, a parent or legal guardian must authorize the entry prior to submission. Entrants may enter one video per month. The contest is open to Lehigh Acres, Florida residents ONLY. Proof of residency is required for winning any prizes associated with the Positive Eye on Lehigh Video Contest.
Contest Description
The Lehigh Acres Gazette is offering an opportunity to enter a year-long promotion described below as part of the Positive Eye on Lehigh Video Contest for the chance to win a Four-Day, Three-Night stay at a first-class Florida resort. All videos submitted must be limited to three (3) minutes in length “telling” a story about a “positive” aspect of living in Lehigh Acres, Florida. Positive Living in Lehigh Acres is defined as “A good, affirmative, or constructive quality or attribute displayed in everyday life.”
Acceptance
Participation constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these official rules. By participating in the contest, entrant is representing and warranting that he/she has read and understood, and agrees to be bound by, these rules. Including the guides and rules referred to herein, these official rules constitute the entire agreement between the entrant and Lehigh Acres Gazette in relation to the contest. They govern the entrant’s participation and supersede any prior agreements between entrant and Lehigh Acres Gazette relating to the contest.
Eligibility
Participants must be at least 18 years of age by the time of submission. Individuals under 18 years of age will need a parent or legal guardian to authorize the entry prior to submission. All entrants must be amateurs with no employment record in the video production industry. ONLY LEHIGH ACRES, FLORIDA residents are eligible. Employees of the Lehigh Acres Gazette and its respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, suppliers, advertising clients and families, and persons living in the same household as such employees, are not eligible to participate. The Positive Eye on Lehigh Video Contest is subject to all national, federal, state and local laws and regulations.
Contest Period
The Positive Eye on Lehigh Video Contest runs from August 15, 2012 – July 15, 2013. All video submissions must be submitted online. Monthly submissions must be received by 11:59 EST on 14th of the month for which it is submitted. No new monthly entries will be accepted after this date.

How To Enter
To enter the Positive Eye on Lehigh Video Contest, an entrant must go to the “Video Submit Page” and …
(a) Read the rules
(b) Complete and submit the online registration form with name, age, address, city, state, zip, phone number, email address.
(c) Each entrant must be the named and authorized account holder of the submitted email address in connection with that video entry submission.
(d) Without limiting any representations or warranties, the Lehigh Acres Gazette has the right (though not the obligation) to, in its sole discretion, reject or remove from the websites, servers and computer systems any work that, in the Lehigh Acres Gazette’s reasonable opinion, violates these official rules or any applicable policy or is in any way harmful or objectionable.
(e)Submission requirements:
- Input the video “title” and the video file name (should be different)
- At least 1:30 to 3:00 minute in length in MP4 format ONLY
- Individual ONLY submission – no groups, partners or organizations/businesses
- Only one (1) video per submission; only one (1) submission per month
- Videos must be in the mp4 format
- Use the “Upload Video” feature for submission
- All persons appearing in he submitted video must sign an Appearance Release Form (Get Copy HERE)
Judging and Selection of Winners
All entries will be judged by the Lehigh Acres Gazette based on the video displaying the best in creative talent and originality depicting the selected theme in the month submitted. Ten (10) videos per month will be selected from all submissions for viewing on the Lehigh Acres Gazette website. The monthly winner will be selected by the Gazette’s viewers. Site visitors wishing to participate must register to access the voting poll and only one vote per viewer is allowed. Viewer participation is not limited to Lehigh Acres residency.
Videos selected for monthly contests will be online from the 16th to the last day of the month. Monthly winners will be announced on the first of the following month and will remain “in play” until a new monthly video is selected. Each monthly video selected will be “reviewed” by site visitors the first two weeks of August 2013 where a Contest Winner will be selected by viewers. The winner of the Positive Eye on Lehigh Video Contest will be announced after August 15, 2013.
If a winner cannot be notified within five (5) days after its selection, or in the event of non-compliance with any of these requirements, the prize will be forfeited, and the entrant having the next highest score will be deemed the winner
Winners will be required to have signed and returned to the Lehigh Acres Gazette an affidavit of eligibility, liability/publicity release and royalty-free license within 10 days of the date of winning notification, otherwise the prize will be forfeited, and the entrant having the next highest score will be deemed to be the winner.
Contest Prize
The prize is non-transferable and no substitution by winner or cash equivalent is permitted. The Lehigh Acres Gazette may substitute the prize for one of equal or greater value at its sole discretion. Awards will be fulfilled approximately 2-4 weeks after conclusion of the video contest.
Intellectual Property
By checking the agreement section on the Positive Eye on Lehigh Video Contest submission entry form and entering the contest, participants agree to give the Lehigh Acres Gazette permission to use participant’s name and likeness for promotional purposes without further compensation. Entrant hereby irrevocably grants, transfers, sells, assigns and conveys to the Lehigh Acres Gazette, and each of their respective successors and assigns, all present and future rights, title and interest of every kind and nature whatsoever, including, without limitation, all copyrights, and all rights incidental, subsidiary, ancillary or allied thereto (including, without limitation, all derivative rights), in and to the Submissions for exploitation throughout the universe, in perpetuity, by means of any and all media and devices whether now known or hereafter devised (including the right to publish and display Submissions for purposes of advertising, publicity and/or trade, in whole or in part).
Entrant agrees and acknowledges that the Lehigh Acres Gazette may now or in the future work on or develop an idea or concept for other video creations based on contest submission. As such, the entrant hereby holds the Lehigh Acres Gazette harmless and indemnifies the Gazette against any course of action for similarities in any writing work.
The Lehigh Acres Gazette reserves the right to promote and publicize, through any means available, the progress, development, process, news, and success of all entries, in whole or in part, to promote the Gazette’s Positive Eye on Lehigh Video Contest and future video contests.
In addition, the Lehigh Acres Gazette shall have the right, in its sole discretion, to edit, composite, morph, scan, duplicate, or alter the submissions for any purpose which it deems necessary or desirable, without the need for any further compensation by the Gazette, and each entrant irrevocably waives any and all so-called moral rights they may have in the videos submitted by said entrant.
The Lehigh Acres Gazette reserves the right to change any portion of this contest, its rules, its prizes, the final date of submission, the date finalists are chosen, the date winners are chosen and any other necessary changes deemed appropriate with a three-day notice by email to all entrants of the Positive Eye on Lehigh Video Contest.
