Kim Montes.<\/p>\n<p>Vocaturo, of Lehigh Acres, and her husband, were in the area in late February for the Daytona 500 race, Montes said. The night of the crash, Vocaturo and her spouse\u00a0were riding their bikes south on SR 415, heading to their motel in Lake Mary,\u00a0Vocaturo&#8217;s family said recently.<\/p>\n<p>That was the\u00a0evening that the Daytona 500 was\u00a0cancelled because of rain.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The back of Vocaturo&#8217;s 2011 Harley Davidson motorcycle was struck by a white\u00a0Infiniti sport utility vehicle that was also heading south on SR 415, Montes said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2890\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2890\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/Sabra-and-her-Fat-Boy.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-2890\" title=\"Sabra and her Fat Boy\" src=\"http:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/Sabra-and-her-Fat-Boy-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2890\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sabra Vocaturo of Lehigh Acres, was killed on SR 415 by a hit-and-run driver, the Florida Highway Patrol said<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>When the SUV struck Vocaturo&#8217;s\u00a0bike, it sent the Harley and Vocaturo into the northbound lanes. At that point two\u00a0other cars\u00a0ran over Vocaturo, Montes said.<\/p>\n<p>Wynne never stopped the Infiniti\u00a0to check on Vocaturo or her husband, the FHP said.<\/p>\n<p>The day after the wreck &#8212; Feb. 27 &#8212; a lawyer for Wynne called the FHP and told them that the SUV had been left in Deltona at a parking lot on Howland Boulevard, Montes said.<\/p>\n<p>Wynne was arrested Thursday after an extensive investigation,\u00a0Montes said.<\/p>\n<p>Wynne was been booked into the Seminole County Jail and is on $50,000 bond.<\/p>\n<p>According to FHP, the four leading reasons why motorists flee accidents are because they don&#8217;t have a driver&#8217;s license, they don&#8217;t have insurance, they are wanted on criminal charges or they are impaired.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Dr. Wynne had a license, had insurance, wasn&#8217;t wanted and we don&#8217;t know about the other,&#8221; said Montes.<\/p>\n<p>After the 6:59 p.m. crash, Wynne drove about 12 miles south to Deltona where he parked outside a Sav-a-Lot store on Howland Boulevard, records say.<\/p>\n<p>Wynne then used his\u00a0cell phone\u00a0to call a friend, Erica Youngblood of Orlando, who picked him up and drove him home to\u00a0Heathrow\u00a0in Seminole County, records show.<\/p>\n<p>Cell-phone records obtained under subpoena by FHP indicated Wynne spent the hours before the crash in New Smyrna Beach. He left the coast sometime after 5:24 p.m. when he paid his tab at Gnarley Surf Bar &amp; Grill, according to his arrest affidavit.<\/p>\n<p>It could not be learned what Wynne ordered at the popular restaurant or how long he had stayed.<\/p>\n<p>By tracking the transmission towers handling Wynne&#8217;s cell phone calls that evening, FHP learned he drove west on State Road 44 and turned south on State Road 415, passing through the stretch of road where Vocatura was hit and &#8220;then proceed into the Deltona area after the time of the crash,&#8221; records show.<\/p>\n<p>Wynne, a chiropractor, was named by Orlando Magazine as one of the region&#8217;s top doctors. According to the article, Wynne focuses\u00a0on &#8220;effective, non-surgical treatment for neck, back, disc herniations, headaches, pinched nerves, scoliosis and many other ailments,\u00a0including those resulting from auto accidents.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He graduated from Florida State University and\u00a0received his Doctor\u00a0of Chiropractic degree at Life University. He also\u00a0previously served as team chiropractor\u00a0for the Orlando Predators, the Atlanta Braves during spring training and has provided care for numerous PGA Tour professionals, according to the article.<\/p>\n<p>His practice&#8217;s website Thursday afternoon touted Wynne&#8217;s care for auto accident victims.
