Jason G. Amores<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Jun. 26, 1981-Jan. 20, 2011<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On Jan. 20 2011 while conducting\u00a0combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan; Sgt. Jason G. Amores, 29, of Lehigh Acres, Fla was killed. He was\u00a0assigned to 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force (Darkhorse), Camp Pendleton,\u00a0Calif.<\/p>\n<p>Amores had served two combat tours in Iraq and one combat tour on an assult ship hunting Somali\u00a0pirates before his deployment to Afghanistan. His personal service awards include the\u00a0 Purple Heart, Combat Action\u00a0Ribbon, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, Sea Service\u00a0Deployment Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism\u00a0Expeditionary Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal and the Bronze Star With Combat \u201cValor.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Amores is survived by his wife Jennifer, who also grew up in Lehigh, two children, Korbin and Violet.\u00a0He also is survived by his mother and step-father, Beverly and Curt Middleton; father Jay Amores, step-mother Gigi\u00a0Amores; sisters Shoshona and Emerald Amores; sisters Rebecca and Samantha Middleton; brothers Jeremiah Amores and\u00a0Joshua Amores.
