<\/a><\/p>\nIn just a matter of hours, aLeeCountydeputy will lace up the sneakers for a trek that will span nearly 400 miles and take him to\u00a0the state capital inTallahassee.\u00a0 Sergeant David Drum isn’t walking and running toTallahassee\u00a0for the exercise (although he will get plenty), but rather to raise awareness and money for the children and families of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.<\/p>\n
A Send off Ceremony will be held tomorrow <\/strong>(Wednesday) morning at 7:00 a.m.<\/strong> at Lee County Sheriff’s Office Headquarters located at14750 Six Mile Cypress Parkway.\u00a0 The ceremony will include an Honor Guard presentation of the Colors, Pledge of Allegiance, prayers, song and remarks from Sergeant Drum and Sheriff Mike Scott.\u00a0 The walk\/run begins immediately following the ceremony at approximately 7:30 a.m.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Day 1 \u2013 April 25th<\/sup><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Beginning at LCSO Headquarters at 7am for send off ceremony, run begins at 7:30<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The route travels to US41 where it remains for the entire day through Lee County crossing into Charlotte County and ending in Port Charlotte near 2378 Tamiami Trl.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Day 2 \u2013 April 26th<\/sup><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Scheduled to begin at 5am, the route stays on US41 into Sarasota County.\u00a0 The run travels through North Port, Venice and ends near the intersection of Glengary St in South Sarasota.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Day 3 \u2013 April 27th<\/sup><\/span>:\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Scheduled to begin at 5am, the route remains on US41 into Manatee County, through Bradenton, Palmetto and into Hillsborough County.\u00a0 The run continues through Sun City and Ruskin before ending in the area of Falls Blvd and S. Tamiami Trl.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Day 4 \u2013 April 28th<\/sup><\/span><\/strong>:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Scheduled to begin at 5am, the route remains on US41 traveling through Hillsborough County and into Pasco County where it will end for the day in the area of Tower Rd and Land O\u2019Lakes Blvd.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Day 5 \u2013 April 29th<\/sup><\/span><\/strong>:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Scheduled to begin at 5am, the route remains on US41 until it intersects with Route 52 and travels west to Little Rd (CR 1).\u00a0 The run will then proceed to US19 where it will end in the area of 13990 Commercial Way (US19) in Hernando County.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Day 6 \u2013 April 30th<\/sup><\/span><\/strong>:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Scheduled to begin at 5am, the route remains on US19 into Citrus County through Homosassa Springs and Crystal River before ending north of Inglis in Levy County.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Day 7 \u2013 May 1st<\/sup><\/span><\/strong>:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Scheduled to begin at 5am, the route remains on US19 and passes through Gulf hammock, Otter Creek, Chiefland and stops just west of Fanning Springs inside Dixie County near Lovelace Ln and US19.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Day 8 \u2013 May 2nd<\/sup><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Scheduled to begin at 5am, the route remains on US19 traveling through Old Town and Cross City before entering Taylor County.\u00a0 The run will end north of Salem on US19.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Day 9 \u2013 May 3rd<\/sup><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Scheduled to begin at 5am, the route remains on US19 until it moves to US 98.\u00a0 The run ends for the day in the area of Taylor County Road 14.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Day 10 \u2013 May 4th<\/sup>:\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Scheduled to begin at 5am, the route remains on US98 into Jefferson County and then into Wakulla County where it heads north on 363.\u00a0 The run then moves into its final leg into Leon County where it ends at the Florida State Capitol at 400 South Monroe St.<\/p>\n
