Dear Editor:<\/p>\n
I’m submitting my opinion to the Beth Stacey roundabout that I read about in The Gazette. I agree with Edd Weiner on how we are perceived and “managed” by the higher powers.<\/p>\n
In addition, the conditions of that intersection does not require monies wasted on consultants to achieve a result superior to making this a four-way stop sign intersection.<\/p>\n
We don’t need to be impressed with design when Lehigh is left to the wayside and proper road signs and lights are a necessity for safety reasons, and when roads are in such terrible disrepair that we look like a third world country.<\/p>\n
Please excuse me, but I could go on and on. I am extremely disappointed by the Napoleonic rules and rulers our local government and regret moving here.<\/p>\n
I did so hoping, since this is part of the U.S., that change was in sight and I wanted to be part of it.<\/p>\n
In nearly three years that I’ve been here, I can see that this change for the better will not occur in my lifetime, since the opinion held of us Lehigh residents is that we’ll get what we deserve.<\/p>\n
We are treated as farmland with dirt roads, yet we’re not allowed to have a hen for the eggs we consume.<\/p>\n
Small and minority businesses are subjected to persecution because they distort the image of the “metropolitan city” of Lehigh Acres.<\/p>\n
Only an influx of new blood with progressive ideas in our local government will save us from “ghettohood.”<\/p>\n
