I know people who have joined the military say, there is no feeling quite like it,&#8221; said 21-year-old Valerie Adams.<\/p>\n<p>She is joining the Air Force, after working in recent years at the Country Style Ice Cream Shop.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I know it&#8217;s a huge change of life for me, but I am excited. Nervous too, but mostly ready to make something bigger and better of my life,&#8221; said Adams.<\/p>\n<p>She leaves soon for basic military training in Texas, and then a four-year\u00a0commitment in the Air Force.\u00a0 She says she may try to make a career of the military, if she likes it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Valerie Adams is trading her ice cream scoop for wings; she is joining the U.S. Air Force.
