Did you know that The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) predicts an above-average 2025 hurricane season for Florida?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NOAA is predicting an above-average 2025 hurricane season for Florida and the broader Atlantic region, with 13-18 named storms, six to 10 hurricanes, and three to five major hurricanes. This forecast is driven by warmer sea temperatures and active weather patterns, though it is less intense than the 2024 predicted and actual hurricane season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration predication also echoes those released earlier in 2025 by both AccuWeather and the Colorado State University which are major predictors of hurricanes each year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a guide, or reference, an average hurricane season has 14 named storms, 7 hurricanes and three of which are considered major hurricanes. In 2024, there were 18 named storms and a record high, 30 named storms in 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ken Graham, the Director of the National Weather Service advises that if you aren\u2019t already prepared here in Florida for this hurricane season, that you do so very soon. He also stated in a recent interview that rapid intensification of a hurricane can mean little time to react for those in the path of the storm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you don\u2019t get goosebumps, I\u2019ll say it again, the big one\u2019s come fast.
