Handberg announces the arrest of&nbsp;Carlos Alberto Calderon Johnson (64, Lehigh Acres) in connection with an indictment charging him with making a false statement in connection with a passport application.&nbsp;If convicted,&nbsp;Calderon Johnson faces a maximum penalty of&nbsp;10&nbsp;years in federal prison.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"296\" height=\"170\" src=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/images.avif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-60501\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>According to the indictment, in October 2019,&nbsp;Calderon Johnson submitted an application for a U.S. passport which, among other things, falsely identified himself as \u201cFrancisco Javier Maldonado.\u201d&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An indictment is merely a formal charge that a defendant has committed one or more violations of federal criminal law, and every defendant is&nbsp;presumed innocent unless, and until, proven guilty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This case was investigated by the U.S. Department of State\u2019s Diplomatic Security Service.
