Pre-registration is required, and the application process can be completed online or by phone, with in-person events planned for those who cannot apply by phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What You Need to Know About D-SNAP:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Who is eligible for D-SNAP?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To qualify for D-SNAP, applicants must meet the following conditions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Not currently receiving regular food assistance (SNAP).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lived in a disaster-declared county during Hurricanes Helene or Milton.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Suffered disaster-related losses, such as:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Damage to their home or self-employment property.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Loss of food.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reduction or loss of income.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Other disaster-related expenses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Meet financial eligibility requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What assistance does D-SNAP provide?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Eligible recipients will receive an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fns.usda.gov\/sso\/electronic-benefits-transfer-ebt\">Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT)<\/a>\u00a0card, which can be used to purchase food at USDA-authorized retailers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The EBT card cannot be used for alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, or non-food items.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to Apply for D-SNAP:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Pre-register online<\/strong>:<ol><li>Pre-registration begins Sunday, Oct. 27, 2024, at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/myflfamilies.com\/dsnap\">MyFLFamilies.com\/DSNAP<\/a>.<\/li><\/ol><ol><li>Pre-registration is only open for counties listed in the current phase (see schedule below).<\/li><\/ol>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Provide a state driver\u2019s license or ID number and a Social Security number to expedite the process.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Complete a phone interview<\/strong>:\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>After pre-registration, call the D-SNAP Call Center at 888.348.0408 during the designated dates and hours based on your county and last name.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Phase Schedules:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Phase One:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Counties<\/strong>: Columbia,&nbsp;<strong>Dixie<\/strong>, Franklin,&nbsp;<strong>Gilchrist<\/strong>, Hamilton, Jefferson, Lafayette,&nbsp;<strong>Levy<\/strong>, Madison, Suwannee, Taylor, Wakulla<br><strong>Pre-Registration<\/strong>: Oct. 27 -31<br><strong>Phone Interview Dates<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>A-F<\/strong>: Oct. 28<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>G-N<\/strong>: Oct. 29<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>O-Z<\/strong>: Oct.\u00a0 30<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>All Last Names<\/strong>: Oct. 31<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Phase Two:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Counties<\/strong>: Charlotte,&nbsp;<strong>Hernando<\/strong>, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Sarasota<br><strong>Pre-Registration<\/strong>: Nov. 3-8<br><strong>Phone Interview Dates<\/strong>: Nov. 4, 6, 7, 8<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Phase Three:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Counties<\/strong>:&nbsp;<strong>Citrus<\/strong>, DeSoto, Flagler, Hardee, Highlands, Hillsborough,&nbsp;<strong>Lake<\/strong>, Lee, Volusia<br><strong>Pre-Registration<\/strong>: Nov. 11-15<br><strong>Phone Interview Dates<\/strong>: Nov. 12-15<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In-Person D-SNAP Events:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On-site events will be scheduled for residents who cannot participate by phone.
