She got home from work on Monday night and realized her gun was missing. That\u2019s when she asked McKnight if he had taken it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He told her no, but then the woman checked his phone and found text messages implying he was lying. Investigators said by the time he admitted he took the gun; he had already handed it off to a friend. Then that friend passed it along to someone else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The woman drove the 16-year-old to his friend\u2019s house and luckily was able to get the gun back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The gun owner wanted to make sure the teen learned a lesson, so she took him back to her home and called the Lee County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Lee County Sheriff\u2019s Office said a 16-year-old was arrested after he stole a gun out of a safe and gave it to his friend.
